Alachua County adopts FY27 budget at rollback rate
The county says its FY27 budget is adopted, with the countywide millage set at 7.2107 mills and the budget page now listing the adopted plan.

Alachua County has adopted its FY27 budget and set the countywide property-tax rate at the rollback level. The county says the rate is 7.2107 mills, down from 7.6000 mills last year, and that the General Fund totals about $327 million.
What the rollback rate means
The county says a rollback rate is designed to generate about the same property-tax revenue from existing taxable property as the year before. Officials also say this is the third time in the last 10 years that they have adopted the rollback rate, and the 10th straight year the countywide General Fund millage rate has gone down.
Over that decade, the county says the rate fell from 8.9290 mills in FY17 to 7.2107 mills in FY27, a drop of 1.7183 mills, or 19.24%.
What else is in the budget
The county says the law-enforcement MSTU stays at 3.5678 mills, while Fire Services, Solid Waste and Stormwater fees are expected to generate about $24 million, $13 million and $3.6 million, respectively.

Residents who want the adopted spending plan can open the county’s budget page, which now lists the FY27 Adopted Budget.
